Our History
“We’re more than just a Store. We’re a Community.”
How It Started
Bruce’s Market was opened on April 2, 1948 by Bruce and Elnora McEachern and is still owned and operated by the McEachern family. The store was originally opened to provide a retail venue to sell fish caught by their fishing fleet. Initially the store also sold staple dry goods, apples and oranges. As the years progressed and demand increased other products were added to their shelves eventually making the store a “go to” destination for the Albion and Haney communities.
Our Reputation
In 2023 we opened Bruce’s Pet and Farm Supply next door to Bruce’s Country Market. We recognized the need for a farm supply store in the area and our store has quickly become a popular community-minded location for both pet owners and farmers alike.
Bruce’s won New Business of the Year in 2024 through Maple Ridge Chamber of Commerce. Customers value our friendly smiles, helpful information and comfortable, country atmosphere, making our new store a good fit with the old one.
What Comes Next
Well, now that Bruce’s Pet & Farm is officially open in Maple Ridge, the next step is making sure every local pet and farm animal knows this is their new favorite spot. We’re talking about pampered pets and well-fed farm animals as our top priority!
It’s time to stock up on the best pet toys, organic feeds, and maybe even a few homemade items that we have on hand.
